Discovery Garden is a beautiful garden and processing center perched on Discovery Bay in Washington State. It is our mission to grow truly regenerative cannabis--cannabis that regenerates communities, people, and its ecosystem.
We utilize biological and ecological management practices, consisting of "living soil" ecology and biological pest management. Because of this, our plants are very healthy and yield potent oils.
Our concentrates are made with potent flowers, unlike other processors who use only trim. Our topicals are made using nanotechnology which allows the cannabinoid compounds to penetrate the skin barriers. They were developed in collaboration with expert chemists in order to optimize effectiveness and consistency.

Regenerative Cannabis refers to growing cannabis with the philosophy and tools subsumed under regenerative agriculture. Why yet another term along with "organic" and "sustainable"? For one, regenerative agriculture practices go beyond organic practices and regenerative agriculture refers to a more specific set of practices than sustainable practices. With regenerative practices we are placing great emphasis on the soil food web, or "living soil". Part of this approach involves not tilling the soil, or "no-till." Furthermore, we are taking into account the wealth of ecological benefits provided by nature. This includes companion plants for hosting beneficial insects. It also includes keeping the natural vegetation in tact and thriving so that natural predators such as lizards and beetles can feel happy and welcome.
In essence, we are tapping into the innate potential of the land to regenerate resources used to grow healthy plants. More is left over than what we took. Phosphorous is provided by mycelial networks and other microbes. Nitrogen is provided by Nitrogen fixing bacteria. And most importantly, Carbon is being sequestered from the atmosphere into the soil. Not to mention our plants are healthier and more productive, we experience less disease, our soil has an impressive water holding capacity (only watering twice a week through summer) and we can almost entirely eliminate our dependency on fertilizers using only compost tea. So why farm any other way?
Our garden hosts a happy population of Western Fence lizards, a predator of aphids and mites.
Our RSO (Rick Simpson Oil) is processed using whole, potent flowers. What is left are the finest of compounds that the plant can provide.
Something to look out for when choosing your RSO is heavy metals and pesticide concentrations. Cannabis does accumulate heavy metals from the soil--it is very good at it--and those contaminants get concentrated into the RSO along with any pesticides. It is important to emphasize that these will be concentrated volumes meaning you will be getting high doses of contaminants. Needless to say, this is not good to have in your medicine but sadly it is happening.
This is why we make our RSO with organically grown plants in biodiverse soil. Our aim is to provide a product that lessens your burdens and worries rather than piling on more.
Our topicals are formulated as water-soluble nanoemulsions for increased skin penetration, resulting in a greater effect on both mind and body. Typical cannabis topicals are made with olive oil, coconut oil, beeswax, and emu oil. Traditional formulations using these transdermal methods of delivery are slow and inefficient (at best) because of the complexity and low permeability of skin structure. Nanoemulsion topicals, however, have a particle size small enough to easily penetrate the outer layer of skin. In addition to this, they spread nicely over the skin with no greasy feeling. The way it works is pretty remarkable....
Our nanoemulsion uses ultrasonic technology which breaks the cannabis extract droplets down to the nanometer scale. In this form, they are recognized much easier by our human cells, providing a whole range of benefits. The way it works is it's essentially sound--really "loud" sound--produced by an ultrasound machine. This sound creates tiny imploding vacuum bubbles, or voids, causing micro-jets, breaking up the cannabis extract droplets into tiny nano-particles. It's like thousands of Big Bangs happening all at once, each bubble a microcosmic universe. In this form, the extract is able to provide exceptionally high bioavailability and effectiveness and it is absorbed by the body very rapidly and completely. This means higher potency, faster onset of action, lower doses. More bang for your buck!
